The Venture Hive Accelerator is a part-time program to take your concept or business to the next level. We have two offerings to accommodate companies at different stages:
Perfect for people who aren’t ready to leave their day job yet and want a crash course on how to turn an idea into a minimum viable product (MVP).
You will build out your concept, assess feasibility, develop a strategic plan, and refine a deck to tell your story. You’ll validate your concept with customers, begin to build a data driven business, and ensure that you can execute on your vision. Individuals may participate in this program as a single founder.
You and your team will develop the structure and process needed to make the transition where most startups fail. Every aspect of your current business will be reviewed to help you focus and scale.
Teams need to develop at a faster rate than their businesses in order to successfully make the transition from startup to scale up. Only teams may participate in this program (minimum two participants).
Plan on an investment of 15-20 hours per week in yourself and your team when applying for either of these programs. Week one will include a 4-hour time commitment for orientation and expect 2-3 hours per week of scheduled mentoring or group sessions. We’ll end with our “Swarm” demo day in week 12, where you’ll pitch to a room full of investors and potential partners.
We can ensure complete confidentiality to those participants who are currently employed and are seeking to assess an opportunity before making the leap!
This is a paid program, and we do not take any equity—so you can retain complete control as you grow your business!

Weekly mentoring session: We’ll use your first mentoring session to map out your OKRs (objectives and key results) for the next three months. These cover your goals and the metrics you’ll use to measure your progress.
Each week’s curriculum will focus on a particular aspect of your startup. Here’s an outline we’ve used in the past:
Bi-weekly pitch practice Sessions (six times throughout the program)
Bi-weekly office hours with attorneys and accountants
There will be various speakers and presentations during the program
Learn remotely using our library of world-class online content. If you’re in the Miami area you’re welcome to join us at our offices for weekly mentoring sessions and standup meetings. Selected companies can either pay $5,000 up front or $1,800/month for all benefits.
Work from Our Offices
We invite you to move in! You’ll be in the middle of the infectious energy of our startups. We provide an amazing space to network and grow. Our facility at 1010 NE 2nd Ave. in Downtown Miami is accessible easily by bus, Miami Trolley, and the "Eleventh Street" Metromover station right outside our door. Selected companies can pay in advance for all twelve weeks: $1,500 one-time payment for a shared workspace or $3,000 one-time for a private office. This is in addition to the fee for the Virtual Accelerator.
After the program, the monthly rate for access to non-private dedicated space is $500/month for the first person plus $250/month per additional person, or $1,250/month for a private office for up to four people. These prices include bi-weekly mentoring and other benefits.
The Venture Hive Fall Accelerator is a part-time program to take your concept or business to the next level. We have two offerings to accommodate companies at different stages:
A serial entrepreneur, Dr. Amat built businesses in the entertainment industry for over a decade, including the first CD-ROM magazine and a national television show. After completing her MBA, Dr. Amat developed pediatric health monitoring products and earned a Ph.D. in Strategic Entrepreneurship (coursework in industrial engineering, business, and education).
While teaching at the University of Miami, she founded The Launch Pad, which was considered the top model in entrepreneurship education. Her program and platform was replicated throughout the United States as Blackstone LaunchPads.
Dr. Amat served as the founding Chair of the STEM Board for Miami-Dade County Public Schools and actively speaks about entrepreneurship education internationally. She has consulted with the US State Department, The Kauffman Foudation, and the World Bank on ecosystem development. In 2012, Dr. Amat was honored as a 'Champion of Change' at the White House.
